Willie Nelson w/ Special Guest Kacey Musgraves
A legendary outlaw of country music, Willie Nelson has pushed against the grid from the time he wrote his first song at the age of seven. With three major albums in the 1970s, Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978), Nelson launched onto the country music scene and became one of the most recognized artists of country music. A few of his many hits include country staples “On the Road Again”, To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before”, and “Pancho and Lefty”. Aside from his musical success, Nelson has acted in more than 30 films, co-authored numerous books and is a well-known activist for multiple causes, including biofuels, the legalization of marijuana and music education.
Joining Willie Nelson is one of country music’s newest stars, the Grammy award-winning Kacey Musgraves. Kacey wrote her first song at the young age of nine and learned how to play the Mandolin and guitar shortly after, catapulting her into becoming a young musical phenomenon. With a move to Nashville from her hometown of Golden, Texas in 2008, Kacey signed with record label Universal Music Group, and made her major-label debut with Mercury Records Nashville with the albums Same Trailer Different Park (2013) and Pageant Material (2015). Both albums debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart, and Same Trailer Different Park landed her two Grammy awards for Best Country Song (“Merry Go ‘Round”) and Best Country Album, as well as the ACM Award for Album of the Year. Kacey also took home the 2013 CMA Award for New Artist of the Year and 2014 CMA Award for Song of the Year for her hit “Follow Your Arrow”.
