HVAC Project at Northern Quest
June 1st, 2015
UPDATE: August 9, 2015
Phase III of HVAC Project Starts Next Week
The exciting "summer of construction" continues next week with the Phase III kick-off of the Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC) system overhaul and replacement project above the main casino floor.
During the first two phases of HVAC construction, we realized there was still more work to be done in The Turf Club, Off-Track Betting (OTB) and KENO areas as well as in Fai's Noodle House. To ensure consistent and comfortable temperatures in those areas, we'll need to extend our construction period unexpectedly.
While we know it may be an inconvenience to you, our most valued guests, we believe the end result will be completely worth it and hope you do too! On Monday, August 10 we will be closing Fai's Noodle House for approximately six weeks. Fails is scheduled to reopen with the same amazing menu in mid-September. In the meantime, please enjoy many of our other on-property restaurants.
One week later, Monday, August 17, The Turf Club, KENO and OTB areas will be relocated for approximately four weeks. The Turf Club and OTB will be located in Impulse starting Wednesday, August 19. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Guests will be able to place bets at the STAN machine inside Impulse Lounge. Runners will be available for vouchers and cash-out. Some Turf Club menu items will be available in Impulse. The video machines located in The Turf Club and in the KENO area will be shut down and unavailable for the four-week construction period. Please feel free to ask one of our Team Members to help you find your favorite machines in other locations on the casino floor.
KENO will be relocated to the Non-Smoking Cashier's Cage on Monday, August 17 and will be open as soon as the transition can be made on Monday. KENO will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and Friday & Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Seating for KENO will be available near the food court. Guests can call 509.481.2225 for a runner. OTB, KENO and The Turf Club are scheduled to be reopened in their usual locations in the middle of September.
The VIP Services office, main casino entrance and casino valet will all remain open as usual during the six-week construction period. Once again, we deeply appreciate your patience with our construction this summer as we work to make necessary infrastructure improvements.
UPDATE: June 26, 2015
We're making progress at Northern Quest
As you know, we are busy replacing an inefficient, aging Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system on our main casino floor. We're happy to report that we are halfway done with this project and are on schedule with construction.
Next week, crews will temporarily close the north end of our casino gaming floor on Monday, June 29. The section that has been closed for the last four weeks will be open by Tuesday afternoon, June 30. Starting on Monday, we will be busy opening the completed section and closing down the area nearest the main Cage and The Turf Club temporarily to finish the last half of the HVAC project. We expect the entire project to be completed by early August.
All restaurants, lounges, the Camas Rewards Center and the main Cage will remain open as usual next week. In addition, the entire south side of the gaming floor (including non-smoking and the Poker room) will remain open.
We understand that these temporary closures are inconvenient to you, our most valued guests. We appreciated your continued patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you can't find your favorite slot machine or table game, please ask any Team Member for assistance. Thank you!
UPDATED: JUNE 13, 2015
On Monday, June 15, all venues will be open for business as usual and your favorite machines and tables will be waiting for you. If you regularly use casino valet, please know that starting at 5 a.m. on Monday, casino valet drop-off and pick-up will be temporarily re-located to our Pavilion entrance until the crane is disassembled on Tuesday evening. The majority of the VIP parking lot will remain open and will be accessible from the Northern Quest Boulevard (south) entrance.
On Tuesday, June 16, several food venues and areas will be closed between 6 and 10 a.m. The gaming floor will remain open as usual, but the Pavilion entrance will be closed and casino valet temporarily shut down. The Camas Rewards Center will be accessible at a table near the Center Bar. River’s Edge Buffet will be closed until 4 p.m., while Fai’s Noodle House will be closed until noon. Masselow’s and Marketplace will both be open for breakfast service as usual. EPIC will be open for lunch at 11 a.m. and Masselow’s will be serving a special lunch menu starting at noon. We recommend you park on the south side of the casino for quicker access through the EPIC, Fatburger and Hotel entrances.
POST: JUNE 1, 2015
Starting on Monday, June 1, we are temporarily closing down a section of the casino floor to accommodate construction of a new Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. The HVAC project is necessary to replace an inefficient, aging system that has been in use for more than 15 years.
The entire project is expected to last until early August. In Phase I, we will be shutting down the area nearest Impulse lounge and Fai’s Noodle House. The slot machines in that area will be shut down and temporarily moved. A construction wall will surround the area, but all restaurants and lounges will remain open as usual. Phase I will last approximately four weeks. When it’s complete, Phase II will require us to close a different section of floor near the main cage and the Turf Club.
While we understand that changes are never easy, our Slots and Table Games Departments have spent the last several weeks moving your favorite slot machines and table games to other areas of the casino so those machines and tables will still be available for play. If you can’t find your favorite machine or table, please ask any Team Member for assistance.

Masselow’s Steakhouse is opening soon! Masselow’s Chef Tanya Broesder and Executive Chef Bob Rogers are now focusing their culinary precision on the delicious world of USDA Prime Grade beef!
Although Masselow’s will still offer fish, poultry and other dishes guests have come to expect and love, Masselow’s tradition of beautifully executed steaks are the most popular offerings with Masselow’s guests.
“We decided to expand our steak program and still maintain the same level of quality that we’ve always done with our other food,” says Chef Bob.
With a state-of-the-art porcelain briquette grill in place for the newly expanded steak offerings, Chef Tanya feels that the quality of meat using 28 day aged Prime Grade beef accompanied by Masselow’s renowned service will bring diners back repeatedly.
“The beef that we’re going to be using, which is going to be Midwest, all corn fed...is Prime beef which means it’s the top three percent,” Chef Tanya says, “they grade the marbling and size…and everything will be seasoned with sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper.”
With the increased steak options, Masselow’s is intent on becoming a frequent and welcoming destination rather than just a special occasion restaurant -- although Masselow’s will still excel at special occasions!
“We want you to think of us because you’re hungry, not just because it’s your anniversary,” says Chef Bob.
Join us at Masselow’s Steakhouse when we open Wednesday, April 29!
